Report of the Year 2009-10


Dear Friends

We are happy to present the Consolidated Report of Activities of Vivekananda Kendra Hyderabad from April 2009 to March 2010. To see the details please click on the report above.

At present 4 centers at Ameerpet, Dilsukhnagar, Kachiguda and Baghlingampalli are functioning -

Usually Activities start with Prayer followed by Pranayama and Meditation Classes, it is followed by Yogasana Classes, Spoken English, Personality Development classes, again Yogasana Classes in the evening followed by Self improvement classes on average about six to eight Classes are conducted in Kendra everyday. The Day ends by 9 pm.

Other Spiritual Programmes like weekly Discourse on Vedanta, daily Satsang on Valmiki Ramayana, weekly Gita, Vishnu and Laltia Sahasranama Chantings and Bhajans are conducted.

Amrit Surbhi – every month programme is organised where about 400 Rice is given to some old age home orphanage etc. this year other items like cloth, soap and other essential things were also distributed.

Vidyadana – Under this programme poor and needy Class X students are provided free coaching classes by experts and samskar verga’s is conducted with their help. Educational Tours etc. were also organised for them

Arogyadana – weekly Medical camps were organised for poor and needy people free medicine and nutritious items were distributed.

Eye camps- On Ist Saturday of every month eye checking camp is organised, about 50 to 60 people get benefited and about 30 people are provided with spectacles free of cost.

Flood relief – during Floods in Andhra Pradesh more than 3 lakh Rs. Material was distributed among the affected people.

Other programmes like Shankara Jayanti, Guru Poornima, Janmastami, Saraswathi Pooja, Eknathji’s Punyatithi, Sadhna Diwas, Gita Jayanti, Kalpataru Day, Sarada Ma’s Birthday, Shri Ramakrishana Jayanti, Swami Vivekananda’ Birthday National Youth Day, Universal Brotherhood Day, Shiva Ratri etc. were organised for general public.

On Universal Brotherhood Day function a competition was organised for students about 2,500 students participated in it, More than 100 prizes were distributed on the occasion.

Over all 14,892 people participated in different programmes during the year.
